Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I was told there are many jobs to pick from and I would have a choice in the roles I would like to work, however this is incorrect you are forced to work roles given to by your management.
Daily tasks are to hunt for roles within projects the business. These are the projects the company has won or potentially going to win. After meeting the quota of number of roles I need to apply for, I then am requested to do training to up skill myself. These training can tend to be boring and pointless however its required by the managers. Once I have completed the following two things I allowed to spend some time on my university work if I have any to complete.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really dislike my apprenticeship and the programme, this is mainly due to my dislike for the management. I feel that Accenture isn't actually student friendly.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I haven't gained any new skills since working in Accenture it's actually been the opposite since I have been losing the skills I had since starting my career with them.
I feel management were placing pressure on me finding a role for myself in the organisation even though I have never worked before in my life. I feel that management would claim to defend and protect apprentices but it doesn't feel genuine.

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

This programme is horribly structured, I don't even get given enough hours a year towards my timesheet for my University days, this then results in me either my personal holiday days or having to hope that the project I work for don't mind me using their wbs code to charge their time too for my fortnightly timesheet. If I knew how bad this organisation and programme was I would have never agreed to work for the business.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive no support from my employer, and when I try to ask for support from the employer they shut me down. I had some difficulties with how the learning was happening at UEL with my learning provider and I express my concern over this. Accenture didn't really do anything regarding the situation apart from sending a one email regarding the issue. I also discuss my issue with anxiety since working and feel stress all the time and management don't care.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I can no support from my training provider, I have an issue with the way they are teaching currently. I feel like they are literally just reading off a PowerPoint slide deck, which I could just read in my own time. I retain no information being said to me, I feel more stupid than before I left school for my A Levels and GCSE's. UEL need to change how they're delivering materials because if I was paying for my degree I would not be okay one bit.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel my qualifications that I'm graining through my train provider does not help my performance to become better for my job due to not having any role. When I do have a role, I have no say in this even though I don't enjoy working as a tester. I have done the same job role for the last two roles I have had, and I don't enjoy it. It impacts my mental health having to dread to login to my laptop every day. Due to the nature of Accenture being in consultancy job roles vary so sometimes they will align with the qualification I'm learning and sometimes it doesn't.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many extra curricular activities that you can get involved with in Accenture as a degree apprenticeship. These include doing other peoples work for free, to gain knowledge and experience with the business and IT world. Currently due to the current climate I have to this activity at home but could do it in the office once Covid regulations have relaxed. Another activity I could do is my coursework and assignments as you don't given much time to produce the work required. They also have a LGBT club which I have once attended in 2019 pre Covid which was a fun event.

Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
No
Why?
I feel stuck in a situation in which I can't leave the company until I gain my degree. The business gives you 12 months contracts but won't actually give back pay you once the new contact comes into place.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
If I could go back in time I would have accepted another offer I got from a different business for a degree apprenticeship. But if you still really want to apply the best tip I can give you is to ensure to listen and sound enthusiastic.
