Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
I work with a variety of teams, some onshore (UK Based) and offshore (India Based). Communicating with them daily on work being delivered is a key part of the day.
I also work in a variety of other initiatives/programmes under Accenture, such as several communications groups - these all strive to power the people and inspire collaboration and communication between those that work for Accenture via regular meetings, newsletters and recognition initiatives.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
I'm able to develop myself here. I can grow my skills easily - it's actually recommended by Accenture directly. I'm able to carefully balance work life vs. uni studies efficiently.
Overall, the apprenticeship has really grown my skills and myself personally into a hard working, ready to learn person.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Since joining I've developed key communication skills, worked with new and exciting tools that I now use daily, been able to study towards gaining a certification (AWS) and have successfully completed a variety of internal training courses.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
We can successfully balance work vs. uni due to the allocation of study hours/days during the week. Usually, it works out at 1 day per week being solely allocated to study, attend university or complete assignments. This is a big help as we can set aside a whole day away from work responsibilities to focus on our apprenticeship degree.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
Additionally, these teams allow us to work with employees much higher levels than us (ex. Managing Directors) to bring in new and exciting content that other employees enjoy.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
Why?
I'm hardly reffered to as an apprentice, rather an analyst. This means that I'm regarded as a full employee and I get treated as such, enabling me to get stuck in with a variety of roles. They're really trusting from the get go, even with little to no experience.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
Think of new and innovative technology that Accenture is involved in, some that it might not be involved in. Knowledge of this will definitely benefit you when you reach the face to face/virtual discussions with the recruiting team.
Ensure your CV is up to date with any and all extra curricular things you've been involved in/previous job roles/etc.
