I am a Solution Architect, interacting with customers and partners on a daily basis. I assist in creating solutions to meet customer's business requirements.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It has been refreshing to get back into a learning environment. The course has given me confidence that I can learn new techniques and provided unexpected insights like reflective practices.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Nothing is perfect and some modules are better organised than others. However, I strongly believe that you only get out what you are willing to put in.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Fujitsu provide all of the assistance I need. I genuinely could not ask for more. When I considered the course, I thought the 20% learning time would be a blocker - particularly when considering my age and involved role. However, the management team encouraged me to undertake the course and I could not have asked for more support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I like to think I have been self-sufficient during the course, but I have made a couple of asks of The Open University and they have been fully supportive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At the time of writing, I will be undertaking a specialism in cyber security and I feel this will be particularly useful to my career moving forward. From the modules I have completed so far, I have had a grounding in networking, programming in both Python and Java, project management and reflective practices.
All of these disciplines have been beneficial and have assisted in personal development as well as the day job. I feel my problem solving and solution management have greatly improved.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I work from home and with the onset of Covid, such activities are restricted. Personally, I do not feel I am missing out.

Yes
Why?
I feel valued and respected when dealing with colleagues, partners and customers. There is a very inclusive culture where everybody works together to achieve success.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
Do it. Fujitsu provide such a large range of technologies, products and services, there are plenty of areas including emerging technologies to move into.
At the time of writing, Fujitsu have recently launched the Fugaku which is the fastest supercomputer in the world, reclaimed the title from IBM. These are exciting times for technology and Fujitsu can provide exciting opportunities.
