Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a software engineer, I collaborate with my colleagues in order to develop software applications and products. During the day I have meetings, where tasks are allocated, planned, and reviewed. I am also studying for a degree in university, so I also allocate time in order to revise and complete my coursework.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is excellent because I have experience participating in fantastic projects, whilst being able to advance in higher education. The salary is also good
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned a lot of interpersonal skills. I have learned how to schedule meetings, present solutions, and solve problems within a professional setting. On the technical side, I have gained a plethora of skills in various programming languages and software development tools.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structured. There are various events set up for apprentices to meet together, share experiences, and gain skills. Senior leadership keeps in touch with me on a regular basis as well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Accenture provides a lot of support. There is a lot of information that I get provided with that helps me to keep a good work/life balance, monitor my mental health and deal with the current coronavirus pandemic
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support is decent. I can reach out to tutors and lecturers about any enquiries or concerns that I may have. The organisation could be better though
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The things that I have learned at university are definitely practical. And yes in some cases I have been able to apply theoretical knowledge in real life. However, most of the work that I do does not overlap with the subjects of the modules that I have studied
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of social events, clubs, and societies to get involved in. There are also opportunities to volunteer to help charities as well.

Why?
There is a real opportunity to grow as a professional, thanks to the support and opportunities offered. Also, the benefit of getting a university degree and earning a salary is brilliant, especially for young people leaving sixth form.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
The most important thing is to be authentic and transparent. There are obviously criteria (grades etc) to be met, however, do not pretend to know it all. What is also important is the willingness to learn, ask questions, take the initiative, and work well as a team amongst over things. Prepare for interview questions and look at what Accenture does and whether that aligns with your personal goals.
