Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Each day is different depending on the client and project. However to summarise a typical day.
9 to 10 Morning Meetings and Client Catch-ups
10 to 3 Working on design, configuration of a solution
3 to 6 Client Meetings
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Balancing the workload was difficult, however was extremely rewarding using learnt skills directly in the workplace to further my career and overall development.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, Over almost 6 years at Accenture I have developed many skills varying from technical skills, qualifications and certifications to softer skills mainly focused around stakeholder management, project management and presenting (influencing/negotiation skills)

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
From an Accenture perspective the programme had minor budding issues as it was just being introduced at my time of joining. However overall the experience was good and was it extremely gratifying seeing the apprentice input shape the programme to where it is today.
From a training provider perspective this was lacking and there were many occasions where Accenture had to get involved due the lack of organisation or forethought in to the program.
Accenture has now picked a new partner if future apprentice programs, which hopefully will resolve these issues
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Support was given when asked, however due to the way Accenture was structured I sometime felt that there was not enough support on the ground as either the project teams or clients were not informed I was an apprentice.
I managed to handle this with support of the apprenticeship program however in my opinion this could be improved, where client and project team expectation should be set at the beginning of an apprentices project
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Little to none. Some professors allocated sessions for support however if this was not done you were left on your own with only slow email correspondence for any queries or support you needed help with.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification aligned well with my day to day work, and helped me perform better including support other workstreams with my new knowledge from the courses. However the best learning experience was on the job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, too many too count.
- Many networking event on a weekly basis
- Communities to join, lead or contribute to
- Sports events and health and wellbeing events
