Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Driving vehicles to customer homes, different enterprise branches etc. selling items like protections or fuels to customers. Run the day which involves fleet management

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given responsibility by running the day which is typically for assistant managers or management assistants. I was also given freedom in how I wanted to advertise our branch to local businesses.

Communication with customer and coworkers. Phone handling. Dealing with customer complaints. Confidence in driving vehicles including premium cars.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Management did change often which meant sometimes it was hard to create close relationships which could have provided support. Very limited support from area manager.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The branch felt a heavy focus on improving sales. Despite being only female at branch, I felt there was a lot of effort put into promoting females at enterprise like intentional woman’s day which I really liked.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I enjoyed learning the soft skills and driving cars. However, the industry is not something I am interested in therefore sometimes did not enjoy it and I felt like I wasn’t making a change. I also didn’t enjoy the location of the branch as it was very small.
