Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
You would talk to customers, providing great service, delivery and collection cars from customers, selling extra protections to customers and getting customers booked in. You go out marketing, trying to get new business in as well as marketing businesses who already rent, keeping a strong relationship. You also drive to different branches, getting cars and vans.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I have had my captaincy role, making sure a specific part of the branch is doing well. I have also had to run the day when both my assistant and manager are out on meetings.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Definitely, my customer service skills have definitely improved. I had little sale skills so they have improved massively. My communication skills have also improved as we have to talk to lots of people. Marketing has improved as we have to go talked to businesses. Overall, I think I have improved many skills on this placement.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The support was good, however I would have liked more time to complete my training with my manager as most of the time I had to find things out by myself.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The overall atmosphere was great, everyone was welcoming and friendly. I got on with everyone very well in my area and could go to them if I needed help.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my placement, I learnt new skills and met great people. However sometimes the hours can get long and there is a lot of work to do. I would definitely recommend it.
