Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Supporting with reporting of financial analysis to division managers, collation and analysis of branch variances between budgeted and actual results, preparing KPI analysis and ad hoc requests from the business management team, supporting yearly and quarterly price maintenance in SAP
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Good amount of responsibility given during the year, however at times would feel a lack of/too much responsibility (inconsistency). Opportunities to work both independently and alongside the business management team - a good mix of both.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Learnt new skills in SAP and Hyperion software. Advanced use of Excel and PowerPoint functions. Significant improvement in communication skills and adaptability. Improved time management and scheduling.

Within the team, I felt very supported as everyone is more than willing to help, even during busier times of the month. During the handover period, I felt very supported by the previous undergraduate when asking questions and completing tasks.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Quite a relaxed work environment, with openness and inclusivity - everyone is generally very friendly and willing to help. Layout of desks helps with more open communication.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my placement to a fairly great extent - there was a good balance of development/opportunities and challenges. I particularly enjoyed the relaxed work environment and the 'Work from Home' policy, as it allowed for greater flexibility. At times, the tasks did feel slightly repetitive, however there were also plenty of new challenges presented each month, which helped me learn new things.
