Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role is to work within the Operations Excellence team within the Ecommerce and Retail BU. This involves scoping out CI opportunities, implementation of new technology, data analysis and operational support. In practice this is spending time in operations to understand, support and improve. As well as undertaking data projects.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given leadership of numerous projects of varying degrees of importance. Including, chairing meetings, data analysis, project management and scoping CI opportunities. However I could have been pushed further and taken on more responsibilities than I was given.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
External to my role I was given lots of support by various members of the company which really helped my development and confidence. More closely to my day to day role I received quality support and guidance from my colleagues, however from my line manager this could have been better.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture and atmosphere is very positive and there is a commendable amount of support and guidance for young people from high up members of the company. There is a lot of quality people in the company that are great to work with and learn from.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I found my placement very educational and has been very formative in my understanding of business and what I would like my future to look like. Like all jobs at times it was tough but overall I found it to be a very enjoyable time and I am pleased with the development I have made.
