Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
General talks from a range of colleagues, from analysts all the way to MDs, which was a key highlight.
Group work and presentations helped us improve our interpersonal skills and collaborate with people from many different backgrounds.
Networking and meeting new people some of which delivered our workshops gave us many insights into the general working day here, as well as understand further progression opportunities.
Chances to collaborate on Case studies which was applicable in the real world made you feel like you were making a difference.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was eye-opening and insightful to learn how the different divisions at J.P. Morgan operate and connect, and it helped me understand the wide range of roles available — from more client-facing positions in HR and ensuring community outreach, to more analytical or technical roles in Finance and Business Management or as a CADP associate — allowing me to see where my strengths and interests could best fit within the firm. Networking with a huge array of individuals all with different experiences was essential in proving to me that the avenues are truly endless.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Presentation skills were developed massively throughout due to the many presentation and group activities that were required of us. I developed stronger communication through group tasks, improved my commercial awareness, and gained a clearer understanding of how to approach problem-solving in a corporate context. Each day involved a mix of interactive presentations from different business areas , networking sessions with employees, team-based case studies, and workshops on skills such as commercial awareness and personal branding. These improved my confidence and collaboration skills.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was incredibly supportive and inclusive — even as a spring intern, I felt valued and respected, with everyone from analysts to senior staff genuinely willing to share advice and help me grow. It was clear that J.P. Morgan fosters a culture where every voice matters, no matter your level of experience. The campus was beautiful and well-designed, creating a really comfortable environment to learn and network in. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming therefore it honestly felt like a close-knit community where people knew and supported each other, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed it thoroughly because it taught me so much about the industry, the different roles available, and what it’s actually like to work at J.P. Morgan — all in such a short space of time. It was both inspiring and genuinely fun to be part of. As I’d never experienced a large corporate setting like this before, it was exciting and a bit surreal to be surrounded by such a professional environment. I learned so much in such a short time, and it gave me a real sense of confidence and clarity about the kind of career I want to pursue. Finally I made some really great friends that I will stay in touch with, which I didn’t expect and that aspect really surprised me.

Recommendations and Advice

5/5
Would you recommend J.P. Morgan to a friend?
Yes
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to J.P. Morgan
My biggest advice would be to keep an open mind as you don’t need to know exactly what role you want going in or what to expect. Be curious, ask questions, and get involved in everything you can, whether it’s group activities or casual conversations. Show genuine interest, be yourself, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone as that’s where I personally learnt the most. Overall don’t stress as everyone is so friendly and willing to teach you.
