Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Across the two weeks, we spent a week in two different departments. We carried out work reflective of what a trainee solicitor would be tasked with doing, such as drafting, carrying out legal research, and filling in different legal documents. I was also able to attend a variety of different meetings, and speak to different lawyers at the firm.
We also attended a series of talks from the different practice areas that the firm offers.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Viewing the ways in which the firm operates as a business was extremely interesting. It was great to get an insight into the various ways one can get involved in the business development of the firm, as well as the way one can shape their own career at the firm.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I was able to take part in tasks that contained information and legal knowledge that I hadn't covered before. This was very interesting, and allowed me to develop my legal research skills, learn new terminology, and view the ways in which lawyers apply their legal knowledge on a daily basis.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was extremely welcoming, and I was constantly encouraged to ask questions and speak to people of all levels of seniority. The talent team was constantly on-hand if I had any questions, and my supervisor and trainee buddy were helpful and supportive throughout the scheme.
