Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Communications role - wrote content for leaders e.g., briefs/ LinkedIn posts etc., designed monthly newsletters, worked on global campaign's such as UN safety week, Quality Week and helped implement the teams communications strategy globally.
Sustainability role - one of my projects has been to design a reporting framework to keep senior leaders abreast of emerging human rights issues that we have identified, including issues that are arising in certain geographies or commodities, or changes in much broader areas such as AI and data privacy. Given the unstable climate and geopolitical landscape, and fast advancements in technology, knowing and staying ahead of emerging and future risks is essential in reducing potential impacts to the business and the people in our value chain.
This part of my role was more project based but day to day activities included: running and hosting team meetings, writing content for the internal platforms, assisted the reporting manager writing case studies for our human rights progress. Another large project was UN Human Rights Day - I led the global campaign which reached over 60k employees across all markets.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
My written and verbal communications skills have developed drastically - learning to adapt to different writing styles has been key. I help write content for several senior leaders who all have different styles, tones etc. Being able to understand the transition between their audiences has been key.
I also have lead training sessions on the companies internal communications channel - these sessions were live to over 150 people globally.
My ability to think critically, systemically and efficiently has developed massively. managing to roles in separate departments has meant that my organisational skills have had have been strong.
Sitting in the supply chain team my business acumen has also improved - I have come to have a good understanding of how a global corporation runs successfully.
