Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The experience also included a interactive collaboration task between the cohort of selected attendees, where we were tasked with making a company pitch to address concerns and needs of a potential client.
The pitching event included being split into teams of around 5 and creating a presentation to pitch the firm to a potential client by highlighting how the firm is best suited to address their current issues and assist in their future aspirations.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I found the programme very helpful in providing a plethora of teams, cases and sector Insights which have influenced me to pursue the firms career opportunities in the future.
The programme has also highlighted to me what the life of a trainee at the firm looks like, he trainees we met during thr programme gave examples of work and social aspects of being a trainee at the firm. Both of which were very positive and something I look forward to experiencing in the future.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Commercial awareness - the short case study and the talks by some of the many teams at Fieldfisher has increased my overall awareness of commercial demands and how the legal sector works closely with companies to perform their functions.
Analysis - The programme has invited me to look further into why the situations of cases are the way they are and why certain approaches need to be taken.
Interpersonal skills and Networking - The programmes ice-breaker and networking event after the first day developed my ability to talk to new colleagues and relate to them in a working and social environment.
The presentation also exercised my ability to communicate and work with others to reach a common goal. Alongside this, the presentation also allowed me to use my oral skills to deliver the presentation effectively with my team.
Skills I have started to develop:
Professional etiquette - Being introduced to a professional legal setting and working within it has allowed me to develop professionalism and understanding for an office work space that a I have not often been previously exposed to.

Company Culture
How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The firm has a strong culture which is apparent not only by its variety of programmes available such as the hive network, but also the good words of any employee we spoke with during the programme, who highlighted their liking of the firm and their desire to stay with the firm for the future.
It seems clear the firm works hard to keep its staff happy, which is also evident from its reputation as a people firm.
