Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I am currently on an apprenticeship involving 3 different seat rotations around various business development and marketing seats. To date I have completed my business development seat and am currently working in the events seat. In my day to day role I oversee external and internal events in the company, from their initial kick off meetings through to creating the invites and setting up on event days.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I thoroughly enjoy the layout of my programme, it enables me to see the various roles and responsibilities across all business development and marketing, before choosing to apply for a specific role within one.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

4/5
I have been able to develop a lot of my transferable skills such as my organisational and interpersonal. However, occasionally the roles are very admin heavy and analytical development can be lost.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
My team have been nothing short of accommodating and amazing to work with. I was welcomed in from the start and made to feel comfortable in what can be a daunting environment immediately. I felt comfortable asking my team any questions I had and none were ever looked down on as "silly".

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

3/5
It is a nice qualification to have, however classes sometimes take away from real world work time and learning on the job. Which having experience within your role is far more valuable than any classes learning facts off is.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
I have been able to get involved in the marathon relay team for charity and various volunteering opportunities as well as career days to promote the company and the excellent apprenticeship scheme it offers.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Fieldfisher LLP to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I think it is a good structured apprenticeship programme in a competitive market and offers a brilliant first experience in the corporate world as the company in and of itself is inclusive and has a cohesive, amicable office environment.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fieldfisher LLP?

I do think a more hybrid approach to work early on for apprentices would be welcome. I found there were days I was in office when the rest of my team was not and therefore there was no real value to my presence and if anything just made it harder to learn as I was trying to drown out office noise or book meeting rooms to take calls which I could have taken a lot easier from home to learn from my team.
