Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Gained an insight into the operations of an international corporate law firm, shadowing a Real Estate Associate for a week. Sat in on client meetings and collaborated with trainees to contribute to current cases. Developed my researching, drafting, commercial awareness and client communication capabilities.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The Scheme provided a valuable insight into the firm and its operations. Individuals at the firm were incredibly approachable and interactive, with a number of workshops and 1:1 meetings providing the opportunity to ask questions in relation to the firm itself and their training contract opportunity.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture struck me as both supportive and collaborative. Each individual at the firm was approachable and communicative. Despite the scheme being virtual, I was lucky enough to be able to spend one day in the office where I found the atmosphere of the office to be incredibly friendly with a relaxed team coffee catch up in the morning before starting work. The open plan design of the office mitigates the hierarchical structure and reinforces the firm's collaborative and united atmosphere.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I personally really enjoyed the Simmons & Simmons vacation scheme. I found it incredibly valuable, and really enjoyed the breadth of workshops and networking opportunities offered as well as the chance to get involved in various tasks and projects.
