Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
During the internship I was introduced to a summer bridge design competition in which the national interns work together on a design project in a designated location. I was also allocated a project which I worked on with the project lead. There was also different software inductions and learning platforms introduced.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Initially the progression was slow however it developed later into the placement. A key important aspect is to talk with you line Manager as they are quite busy but if you feel you are not working on much they will happily help you find something interesting to do.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Definitely improved my software modelling skills and my computer analysis. As well as truly understanding what goes into the role of a civil engineer within the consultancy. working in a team also helped each member develop their skills

The Arcadis team was amazingly nice the entire process and your wellbeing is very important, there could have been more discussion of help available especially with stress however they were a very welcoming group who are happy to help throughout

Amazing. Great team environment and each person supports each other. A team that is very diverse and accepting of different people
