Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

During my time with the company, our team worked on several projects across the country, I worked closely with my team to produce drawings and a report for each. We generally worked remotely and would communicate regularly over teams.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was only given responsibility over relatively minor tasks

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learned to use MicroStation and ProjectWise, both of which are industry standard software. I had no familiarity with either before the internship and have since become competent at producing CAD drawings in MicroStation. I have also developed soft skills such as communicating with a team, managing my time across different tasks and critical thinking. I am now familiar with engineering work flows and processes.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received plenty of support and guidance, my team were always available to help me if needed and were very good at explaining any task given to me. They were always approachable if I had any issues.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture and atmosphere was excellent, I would definitely work for Arcadis in the future. The staff are all friendly and the office gives good vibes.
