Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Carrying out tasks handed to me by the Civil engineering team within the substations team. This was a range of jobs such as producing different types of designs from foundation designs to transformer bund calculations among any other tasks.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I feel I was given a lot of responsibility for the tasks that I carried out, which gave me a lot of satisfaction knowing I had important jobs to do.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have developed my presentation skills, my ability to work within a team has increased massively compared to university as well as my ability to work independently. The new skills I have learned is how to use some design software and carry out calculations to a certain standard dictated to me before I begin the tasks. On top of all of this I have come away with a much better understanding of how a business operates within the Engineering sector.
