Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Some panels with insights into the company culture, tips on how to build a personal brand, etc. Then we got an introduction on the several divisions within markets and personal networking sessions with several analysts, associates, MD's and ED's. These networking sessions were in groups of 3, two participants and one employee. Case study and trading simulation activities.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Very insightful. Not only we got to learn about these roles, we got to interact with the people who hold them, in order to see which is the best fit for us.

Yes, I have learnt about getting out of my confort zone to meet new people and also getting my point across. I have also learnt a lot about the technicals and the different products offered by an investment bank markets division.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very good and friendly. You could tell the employees had very good relationships with their colleagues and their opinions were valued, and the company prides itself on this good company culture and the effort they put in to uphold it.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed it. It helped me develop my skills, gain more insight into what specific division I want to work in, and talk to a lot of people with my same interests and who answered all of my questions.

Maximise your CV so it shows your transferrable skills from other past experiences. Try to stand out and show your passion for the markets. Also try to have an experience which shows your numerical / quant skills, but also show you are outgoing.
