Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I attended the spring internship at JP Morgan. We had many online sessions, talking with many employees. The first day we were briefed on the session. They taught us how to present ourselves, and how to build our brand value. Then we learned more about markets and the different roles inside. We had the chance to discuss with junior employees, as well as more senior ones.I also loved networking with fellow attendees, and meeting passionate people. I would recommand.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I thought i knew a lot about the industry. But somehow i still learned a lot. It was surprising to see the industry from the inside, I only imagined how it would be and was happy to see that the real industry was as much appealing as what I thought. It was eye-opening to see the real work done in the offices and the collaboration needed to make big things happen. I wish It was longer and more insightful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have developped a lot of skills. Mainly networking and talking with people more experiences than me. I also discovered how trading works and what the job of a researcher at JP Morgan would entail. I also loved the "building your brand value" session, which allowed to better present my self and make my self more valuable to others. It was very interesting learning all those things in such a short time. It was instructive from beginning to end.

Company Culture

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight
5/5
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
They took a long time explaining the culture of the company. it seemed like they valued their values and would not be tolerant for intolerant behaviors. They were also open about diversity and inclusivity. It was very refreshing seeing that those people acted with a moral compass. I am reassured in my ethical choice of a career in finance. They all seemed very accepting of new recruits and did their best to teach us what they knew.

Would you recommend J.P. Morgan to a friend?
Yes
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to J.P. Morgan
Just prepare yourself very well and plan ahead. You need a very well polished CV. I did mine on Latex and it seemed to work well. Your english must also be very good. There is no talking to a person during a real interview, but you will still have to answer a few questions on the Hirevue process. You need to learn about the company before you apply. Make yourself stand out by the relevance of your application.
