Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Sat in two seats within the firm. I was able to speak with members of the department and was assigned written work to do as well as getting additional tasks from others in the department. We also got to sit in on talks about each of the different departments with trainees as well as others from each team.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was a fantastic opportunity to be able to see first hand what the role of a trainee at the firm was like. It was also great to see the clients they work with and also be able to see the typical work and projects that they will work on.

I learnt how to draft legal documents and how to approach editing for articles and other documents. I learnt how to communicate capacity as well as developing my skills in being able to listen to specific points in briefs

Very friendly and approachable. I really felt like I was part of a team and that everyone was there to help each other out.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. I was able to learn new skills, meet new people and gain further insights into the work of a trainee. I really enjoyed the additional talks they organised for us to further ingratiate us into the different departments and work of the firm

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Taylor Wessing
Research the firm thoroughly and come to interviews and assessment days with a clear reason for why you chose them as a firm and why commercial law. Be ready to listening and crucially be curious.
