IT Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship - BuildStore

Our success relies on strong digital systems and responsive IT support — and we’re looking for a motivated ICT apprentice to help manage and enhance our technology across the business.

About the role:

As an IT Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in supporting the daily operations of BuildStore IT department. Working closely with the IT Manager, you’ll gain hands-on experience maintaining systems, resolving technical issues, and supporting ongoing IT projects. You’ll study towards a nationally recognised qualification while developing practical, workplace-ready skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to internal users across the business.
  • Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network devices.
  • Support the management of servers, cloud systems, and user access controls.
  • Monitor and maintain IT systems performance, backups, and security.
  • Log and document IT issues, resolutions, and system updates.
  • Support IT improvement projects and technology rollouts.
  • Help enforce data protection, cybersecurity, and compliance standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers and external service providers when required.
  • Deliver excellent internal customer service and clear communication.
  • Manage and maintain the support ticket desk.

You will need the following skills:

  • A genuine passion for technology and IT problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows systems.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.

Salary:

£19,050 per annum.

Working hours:

30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 9am - 4:30pm, Friday 9am - 1pm.
