  • GCSE Requirements: 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be A*-C / 9-5 for Maths and A*-C / 9-4 for English, Science and two other subjects.

Description

As a Laboratory/Quality Apprentice, or a Multi Skilled Apprentice, you will assist qualified Laboratory Technicians, Quality inspectors with planned, reactive, and corrective Laboratory /Quality tasks.

This is a learning journey to become proficient in the Testing and inspection of manufacturing of a wide range of manufacturing components and materials.

Encompassing Testing and inspection, while strictly adhering to Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Completing required documentation, both manually and digitally.

  • A strong Health and Safety mindset and awareness
  • Application of learned Laboratory Skills & Quality Inspection.
  • Planned, Reactive and Corrective
  • Use of a PC and associated software for documentation purposes.

  • A willingness to learn with a proactive approach
  • Strong practical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • An interest in Laboratory & Quality
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Good PC literacy. MS Office as a minimum

Working Arrangements

Work Pattern

Your contracted hours each week throughout your apprenticeship will be 39 hours Monday - Thursday Working Pattern 7am-3.30pm. Friday 7am-2.30pm.

This role is based at our Parker Meggitt CVD, Holbrooke Lane Coventry. It is recommended that you live near.

Apprentice salaries increase annually with experience and are reviewed each September, depending on individual performance. Apprentices are also included in Parker Meggitt's bonus scheme, receiving a minimum of 2.5%, which may increase depending on overall company performance.

Training provided

Alongside your day role, you will work to complete your apprenticeship with your external training provider. This will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively.

Future Prospects

What does the future look like?

Upon successful completion of the programme — and subject to performance — you may have the opportunity to move into a permanent role within the team or business area where you completed your apprenticeship.

Other requirements

In order to apply, you must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least the past three years prior to starting the apprenticeship.
  • Have completed full-time education before the apprenticeship is due to start.
