Key Information

  • Salary: £19,000
  • GCSE Requirements: 5x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be A*-C / 9-4 INCLUDING math, English and a STEM subject
  • A-Level Requirements: 112 UCAS tariff points. Post-GCSE subjects studied must include any of Engineering, IT, Computing, Web, Telecoms, or other relevant STEM subjects. In addition to meeting the tariff requirement, applicants are required to achieve a grade B in A level Maths.
  • Is a Driving Licence essential? No

Description

In this role, you’ll join Parker Meggitt’s Data Governance team and gain experience working with global business functions to improve data quality, processes, and standards. You’ll support the development and implementation of policies, collaborate with subject matter experts, and help shape how data is collected, stored, and used across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to build a career in data governance and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data models to support the organisation’s data analysis needs.
  • Ensure data is accurate, accessible, and of high quality for effective analysis.
  • Assist in the creation of reports and dashboards to monitor data quality and governance metrics.
  • Collaborate with various business units to understand their data needs and ensure compliance with data governance standards.
  • Evaluate and reconcile information from multiple sources, identify and resolve conflicts, fill data gaps, and transform complex or low-level data into meaningful insights that reflect true business needs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SQL, Power BI and other data visualisation software.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing.
  • Basic understanding of data governance concepts, data management principles and data quality frameworks.

Working Arrangements

Work Pattern

Your contracted hours each week throughout your apprenticeship will be 39 hours Monday - Friday.

Location

This role is based at Ansty Park, Coventry. It is recommended that you live within a commutable distance of this location.

Apprentice salaries increase annually with experience and are reviewed each September, depending on individual performance. Apprentices are also included in Parker Meggitt's bonus scheme, receiving a minimum of 2.5%, which may increase depending on overall company performance.

Training provided

Alongside your day role, you will work to complete your apprenticeship with your external training provider. This will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively.

What does the future look like?

Upon successful completion of the programme — and subject to performance — you may have the opportunity to move into a permanent role within the team or business area where you completed your apprenticeship.

In order to apply, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old when the apprenticeship begins.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least the past three years prior to starting the apprenticeship.
  • Have completed full-time education before the apprenticeship is due to start. For this programme, you must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance.
