Beatsons Building Supplies is a large, independent Scottish builders' merchant founded in 1966, known for serving trade and DIY customers with a wide range of construction, landscaping, plumbing, and decorating materials from its branches in Central Scotland and online.

Overview:

We are looking to bring on at IT Support Apprentice who will provide first-line technical support to staff, assist with system maintenance, and learn core IT skills through on-the-job experience. This role is ideal for someone passionate about technology and eager to start a career in IT.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to helpdesk queries and resolve basic IT issues (hardware, software, network).
  • Set up and configure desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Install and update software applications.
  • Assist with user account management and password resets.
  • Support IT projects such as system upgrades and deployments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support requests and solutions.
  • Follow company IT policies and security procedures.
  • Complete all apprenticeship training modules and assessments.

Desirable skills:

  • Basic understanding of computers, operating systems, and networks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn new technologies.
  • Must have a drivers licence.

Salary:

£20,000 per annum.

Working hours:

35 hours a week, 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
