Location: Wolverhampton

Contract: 1-year industrial placement

Start Date: July 2026

Salary: £23,500 per annum

Are you looking to kick-start your career in Finance within the Aerospace industry? Then consider joining our Finance team at Safran, where you'll gain valuable hands-on experience, build your professional network, and develop a strong understanding of how Finance drives success in a leading global engineering organisation.

This 12-month placement offers the opportunity to work across multiple areas of the Finance function, supporting key projects and processes that directly impact business performance. From financial control and reporting to supporting cross-functional cost initiatives, you'll be part of a team that helps shape the financial health of our organisation.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Assist with monthly financial control processes such as journal preparation and spreadsheet validation.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management and financial accounts.
  • Take ownership of assigned balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Contribute to cost reduction activities, ensuring alignment across departments and accurate reflection in financial reporting.
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley self-assessment audits and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with programmes, engineering, operations, and commercial teams to support the creation of financial bid models.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and project support as required.

Job Requirements

What will you bring to the role?

Essential skills:

  • Currently studying towards a degree in Finance, Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, Business Management or a related field.
  • On track to achieve a 2:1 or above.
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career within Finance.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively within a team.
  • Flexible, calm under pressure, and adaptable to change.
  • Strong attention to detail with good organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Desirable skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Good understanding of financial principles and business processes.
