Job Description

Flying Start Degree Programme — Accounting Apprenticeship

Study for a degree and kickstart your career

Our Flying Start degree programmes let you earn a salary, gain real work experience and study towards a degree at the same time. Whether you’re leaving school or college, or rethinking your career path, this is a chance to earn while you learn and build valuable professional experience.

At PwC, you’ll be part of a culture that embraces difference and encourages fresh ideas. You’ll work alongside some of the industry’s leading professionals, contribute to live projects and start making an impact from day one.

What you’ll do

  • Work as part of our Audit teams, gaining exposure across a wide variety of organisations
  • Learn how businesses operate — from the warehouse floor to the boardroom
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to build strong relationships and solve problems
  • Use technology and data to analyse information and provide clear insights
  • Help clients navigate complex decisions with confidence

Your development

  • A degree combined with structured work placements during term time
  • Each academic year includes a term spent on full-time work placement at PwC
  • On track to qualify as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, with 85% of exams completed by graduation
  • Most graduates receive an offer to join PwC’s graduate programme, putting you on the path to full qualification just over a year after finishing university

Financial package

  • Competitive pro-rata salary during placements
  • Accommodation provided if needed while on placement
  • Many partner universities offer reduced tuition fees
  • ICAEW registration fee covered, with many study materials provided

Where could you study

The Accounting Flying Start programme is delivered in partnership with leading universities:

  • Newcastle University (NN14)
  • University of Manchester (N403)
  • University of Nottingham (N410)
  • University of Reading (NN41)
  • Queen Mary University of London (N403)

Entry requirements vary by university. Please check their individual admissions policies.

Application process

  1. Apply via UCAS (each university counts as one UCAS choice)
  2. Online assessments
  3. On-demand video interview
  4. Virtual immersive assessment centre
