The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Industrial Placement to join our Finance team in our Bristol office, working closely with the Financial Services team and the Group Reporting team.

The Financial Services team is part of the wider finance team that covers financial transactions with both income and outgoing transaction. Group Reporting are responsible for internal and external reporting of financial performance and the production of the monthly finance pack that is shared with senior management to provide oversight on financial performance.

Collectively the Group Reporting and Financial Services team is around 50 people and supports the business in respect of financial performance. The team provides this support to all of the areas of the business – operations, property and support functions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Financial analysis and reporting of actual performance vs forecast
• Financial analysis as required to support business decision making
• Allocating of income to the correct customer accounts
• Responding to customer queries
• Supporting in the procure to pay process
• Supporting with timely and accurate month end close activities across both teams
• Communicate and collaborate with other areas of the business
• Willingness to get involved in audit queries and requirements to fulfil reporting needs
• Maintain a good working knowledge of other areas of the business

What We’re Looking for in You

• Working towards an undergraduate degree with a numerical, business or legal element e.g. maths, business, accountancy, law economics
• Seeking a 12-month placement before returning to your final year of study
• Experience and interest in finance, risk management and assurance
• Someone who is self-reliant, eager to learn and enjoy solving problems
• Good attention to detail with a willingness to learn to skills
