The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a UX Industrial Placement to join our UX team in our Bristol office. As a member of our UX team, you will gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of digital product design. You’ll be involved in real projects where your contributions will help shape the user experience and have commercial impact. Our UX team is looking for a motivated individual who is ready to learn, collaborate, and make a real difference to our customers experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work side-by-side with UX designers and researchers who will mentor and guide you through your placement.
• Learn how to use research and design tools. At Unite Students we use Figma, Adobe and Userlytics.
• Engage in a variety of UX processes including wireframing, user testing, and iterative design.
• Collaborate with designers and product managers to address usability issues and improve user interfaces.
• Assisting with planning and executing UX research studies and user-testing, including speaking with students.
• Maintain detailed and organised documentation of research sessions, activities, findings, and recommendations for presentations and the research repository.

What We’re Looking for in You

• Passionate about UX Design with a good creative eye. Ideally with digital design experience.
• Working towards a relevant undergraduate degree and seeking a 12-month placement before returning to your final year of study.
• You have a desire to learn and take initiative in exploring new tools and techniques.
• Someone who is self-reliant, eager to learn and enjoy solving problems.
• Great communication skills.
• A collaborative spirit, excited to work with several departments and teams.
