Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I come into work, I do the window deals or open the BEuro, then look at some enquiry's that are open and try to contact them throughout the day to see if we can help them any further or if they would like to book. I also take payments when customers arrive or over the phone, help them with any queries and book holidays for them.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I only started a few weeks ago but at the moment I am really enjoying this programme. I have not started any of my apprenticeship work yet but what skills I have learnt in just a few weeks is really good. My team are great and helpful and answer any questions I have.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt how to answer the phone, greet customers, how to take payments, how to book holidays, how to add on any extras like extra luggage or what seats they would like, how to open the BEuro, how to sell currency, how to create enquirys and how to use new systems.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
This programme seems pretty well organised, I have now been introduced to my assessor and I have started to learn how this programme works. I feel like I can contact my assessor at any point if I have any questions or if I need help. The structure seems pretty good as well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support I have received from my employer is brilliant. They have helped me from the very beginning. If I have any questions or if I need help with anything I know they will help me, I also feel like I can go to them with any problem I may have or if I need help with anything no matter how big or small they are.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have only just finished my induction stuff but I will be starting my work towards my qualifications soon. However, from what help I have had already I can tell I am going to have plenty support for my qualification and I know where I can ask for help and support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Like I stated above I have not started anything towards my qualifications but I will be soon, however from what I have heard from other apprentices and my colleagues that this qualification will really increase my knowledge about the job and will help me have a better understanding on everything we sell.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have online meetings once a month one to one with my tutor and also calls with the rest of the apprentices in the region as well. We are also have apprentice days where we go to somewhere like Bristol Airport and there I will get the chance to meet other apprentices in person which is a great opportunity.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend TUI UK & Ireland to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Since I started I have had nothing but support and kindness from everyone I have spoken too who work for this company. They will help me if I ever have any questions or if I am stuck with anything that I am not sure about. They have also treat me like I have been here for a long time which is so nice.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TUI UK & Ireland?
I would always recommend TUI to anyone who is interested in travel. So far everyone I have met have been kind and helpful and these are the main reasons why I would always recommend TUI no matter what department someone wants to go in. It does not matter if you have experience or not, non matter what people who work for TUI will help you along the way.
