Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

We received numerous talks on various practice areas, and developed a deeper insight into the firm, its culture, and opportunities. On the final day we shadowed an associate in a department we had expressed interest in.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

There was a lot of opportunities to understand the business and roles. Between the many talks on specific practice areas, meetings with trainees, associates, we were able to develop a strong understanding of what is available at Latham & Watkins.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

There is a strong development of interpersonal skills, by virtue of meeting a lot of people, as well as numerous networking events, the ability to communicate and converse improves. Additionally there was a lot of tips provided on how to write better applications as well as interview guidance.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

It was a fantastic opportunity which I thoroughly enjoyed, I feel I have a deeper understanding of the firm, its practice, but more importantly the culture, atmosphere, and people. The event was well structured, with great opportunities to network and get to know fellow students as well as the trainees, associates, and partners.
