Describe your role and what it entails:
One of my favourite parts about working for Enterprise Mobility is that no two days are the same - every day brings new scenarios and challenges. While a key part of my role involves speaking with customers and ensuring they have a positive experience, I also focus on building relationships with corporate clients, local vendors, body shops, and dealerships. Through regular marketing visits, I help strengthen our brand presence and maintaining long-term partnerships. There’s so much variety in my day-to-day responsibilities, which keeps things engaging and rewarding.
What have been your highlights?
There have been many highlights over the past 12 months. I was proud to be a finalist in the nationwide ‘Intern of the Year’ competition and to win our regions Sales and Service competition multiple times. I’ve also successfully set up local corporate accounts with local partners. These are all key achievements that help drive real business results.
The standout highlight for me has been the charity work. During my placement year, I’ve had the opportunity to support causes like Children in Need, Mind, and local foodbanks. I’ve attended countless fundraising events at schools, hotels, and charity balls, and I even got to visit the BBC Bridge House studios in Media City. We toured the studios and sat on the famous red sofa, definitely not something you do every day!
One of the most memorable moments was featuring on the BBC live show, where I pied one of our branch managers on national television! This year, I’ve been invited to join the Children in Need national team to help manage their social media accounts - proof that the opportunities here are truly endless.
What has surprised you the most amount working at Enterprise Mobility?
What most people don’t realise, myself included before starting my internship, is that Enterprise Mobility is so much more than just a car rental company. It’s a true mobility provider.
There are countless career paths available here, and you can tailor your journey to suit your interests. As a finance student, I was especially excited to learn that Enterprise Mobility supports aspiring accountants by sponsoring them through accounting qualifications.
Knowing that I can pursue a professional accounting qualification while working here has been a huge motivator, and a great example of how the organisations invests in its people.
What have you learnt from your experience in the role?
The amount of knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the past year has been incredible.
From delivering exceptional customer service to generating sales and handling negotiations, I’ve developed a wide range of skills. I’ve also fine-tuned essential qualities like teamwork, communication, resilience, and leadership.
It’s been an absolute pleasure to learn from the best, supported by managers who genuinely care about their teams’ success and take the time to provide quality training and guidance.
How would you describe the culture at Enterprise Mobility?
One thing that truly sets Enterprise Mobility apart is the workplace culture.
I’ve made friends for life here, people I see regularly outside of work, go on holidays with, and genuinely enjoy spending time with. What’s special is that even though you’re working alongside your friends, it doesn’t take away from the strong work ethic that runs through the organisation. Everyone is like-minded, we work hard, and our hard work is rewarded, and we celebrate our wins together at fantastic events like galas and nights out.
Enterprise Mobility is absolutely the place to kickstart your career, gain valuable business experience, and have fun while making lifelong friendships. I’d recommend the internship or graduate programme to anyone, regardless of their degree background. It’s not just for business students, I’ve worked with people from sports, neuroscience, and law backgrounds.
As my internship draws to a close, I’m proud of everything I’ve accomplished, and I’m already looking forward to returning full-time after my degree.
