Management Trainee Placement

At Enterprise Mobility

Placement (10 Months+)

Business

Describe your role and what it entails:

As a Management Intern at Enterprise Mobility, my role involves managing and organising logistics related to vehicle rental and transportation solutions. This includes key business functions such as customer service, revenue management, and leadership development.

Every day is different, and you have to think on your feet, both independently and as part of a close-knit team. I work with a diverse range of customers, including retail, insurance, and corporate clients, ensuring each one has a seamless and excellent rental experience.

A big part of my role is helping the branch location run smoothly and grow, whether that’s boosting revenue or finding ways to cut costs. It’s really helped me get a solid grip on how business works and how to think more strategically.

What have been your highlights?

During my internship, I had the opportunity to work in two very different settings: an airport and my hometown branch. This gave me a great mix of fast-paced customer service and community-focused experience.

At the start of the year, I set some big goals and was proud to achieve every one of them. I made it to Top Performers Club (ranking in the top 20 out of 600 employees for sales), received two Employee of the Month nominations, won several Sales and Service competitions, and passed my Management Qualification Interview (the final test before promotion) with a score of 93% - all within just eight months.

That progress helped me secure part-time work while I finish my final year at university, and now I’m aiming to step into a management role after I graduate.

What has surprised you the most amount working at Enterprise Mobility?

Working at Enterprise Mobility has genuinely boosted my confidence more than I expected. I've grown into a more reflective and resourceful person. I’ve been able to adapt and contribute both independently and within a variety of teams.

One of the most rewarding surprises has been how much fun I’ve had along the way. Building relationships with both customers and teammates has made the experience incredibly enjoyable. Being part of such a diverse, positive, and supportive community has not only been inspiring - but it’s also made me feel truly valued.

What have you learnt from your experience in the role?

I have developed what I like to call my ‘relentlessly bothered’ attitude this year, and the importance of always caring about every interaction you have in the workplace. I have developed my communication skills, sales techniques and problem-solving abilities, all skills that have enabled me to create solid long-lasting relationships. I have learnt the importance of being understanding of the needs of customers and tailoring my sales pitch to adapt to everyone. My interpersonal skills have grown massively which has enabled me to train new employees and recruit new graduates at university careers fairs.

How would you describe the culture at Enterprise Mobility?

The culture at Enterprise Mobility is incredibly positive and supportive. My managers and teammates were always there to help with every question I had, especially at the start of my journey. I’ve since had the chance to give back that same support to new employees, including through the Leadership Focus Group, which I helped set up. Enterprise Mobility is a truly supportive and inclusive place to work.

The organisation is deeply committed to supporting charitable causes., I had the opportunity to get involved in fundraising and promotion of BBC Children in Need, and I was able to support a charity of personal importance through the My Purpose My Time initiative, which allowed me to take a fully paid day off support a cause close to my heart.

All of this reflects how much Enterprise Mobility cares - not only about their customers and employees, but also about the wider community it serves.
