Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

During my placement I spent a lot of time working on corporate cards which involved the processing of reports, training, limit amendments as well as dealing with queries. First rotation saw me work heavily with the accounts payable team, whilst the second rotation saw me deal with the analysis of spend of company travel.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a lot of responsibility, with being of control of most of the corporate card scheme. On a day to day basis I was able to complete my work without any type of micromanagement.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have heavily developed my personal skills, such as networking, self-management. I have also developed my Microsoft Excel skills to a high level. In addition, I have improved my understanding of financial statements.

A lot support and guidance was given, whenever I had a question or issue I was always able to go to my manager for advice and was always there to help.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture is in general quite relaxed which makes going to work not feel like a chore as other jobs can feel. Feels as if teams interact quite well amongst each other.
