Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Within my role in the sustainability team I work in ethical, environmental, climate action and circularity. My day to day is never the same, I have my own projects which I own and I report on targets for the company while working alongside our partnerships. I am involved in meetings daily, working with many different teams and collaborating with external partners.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was given more responsibility than I ever imagined. I have always been trusted with my own projects, delivering my own independent work. I also have been trusted with annual reports which are key for the company, something I never expected to do as an intern but it has been an amazing opportunity.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have grown both personally and professionally on my placement. As a person I have grown my confidence and I have improved on my email/writing skills as well as presentation skills. I have also learnt how to manage my time and meet strict deadlines. Learning to prioritise certain pieces of work is another key skill I have learnt and will take forward into my future careers.

My team are incredibly supportive. I have weekly catch ups with my manager and have always felt comfortable asking for support and getting advice off team members.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Gymshark's culture is amazing. The office has such a warm and vibrant energy around it. I have always felt welcomed and comfortable in my work space which has made my experience even better.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have loved my placement at Gymshark. I never imagined to have been given so much responsibility and opportunity to grow. I have also had the chance to work among some amazing people who are incredibly knowledgeable in their fields and have provided me with guidance and support throughout my placement.
