Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working for Aldi has been a great learning experience and has given me opportunities to manage stores with over 50 employees. I have worked on National and Regional projects which have been a great insight into the business model. I have run my own store which was such an achievement.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
A lot of responsibility! In the first few weeks you will already be running shifts which then accelerates to running your own store.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Before starting the placement I never had any management experience so I developed my management and leadership skills throughout the year from running my own store to pitching an idea which will be used regionally. I have also really improved on my confidence which has helped a lot going back to university and also future employment. Time management was also improved during this time.

What advice would you give to others applying to Aldi
In the application process be yourself and research into the company. During the placement be prepared to work really hard and ask lots of questions. It is also down to you to push your training so make sure you are on top of that.
