Supporting continuous development and optimisation of Aldi’s international procurement processes, I support strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and global alignment. Collaborating closely with teams across multiple countries, to champion business change and foster strong stakeholder engagement to support Aldi’s long-term strategic goals.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed learning something new and working towards a qualification in Project Management. I was able to complete the learning alongside my day to day job and use the knowledge gained to improve my work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I developed new skills in stakeholder management, project finances and project governance. I developed existing skills in negotiation and contract management.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was structured with e-learning modules, webinars and regular catch ups with a tutor during the 18 month duration. Due to changes within the qualification, there was some confusion as to what the end point assessment would look like which was a challenge.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received great support from my Manager and team during my apprenticeship. They allowed me the time to complete my work and supported me in areas I found challenging.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I was always able to discuss topics with my Tutor and had regular catch ups.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I gained confidence in project management and it supported my movement to a new role within Aldi. I am also now able to continue my studies into a Level 6 apprenticeship.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
To research Aldi and the retail market to understand the discounted model. To have examples ready to show your experience and how this would be transferable.
