Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Within supply chain management there are many assistant level roles and responsibilities and day to day tasks can differ depending on what team you are assigned to. I work within a team that manages supply chain invoicing and financial processes. My role invoices processing invoices from business partners, resolving invoice queries, financial reporting and since I have been on a Data Analyst Apprenticeship I have also been building tools to automate some of our processes and reporting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am really enjoying learning new information about data and how it can be analysed and processed to provide valuable business insights. The apprenticeship has increased my technical skills and really supported me in my role and in looking at the way we currently process data from a new and fresh perspective. It has helped me to suggest and implement improvements that have really enhanced the way we do things as a team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned so many new skills, particularly in excel, whilst I have been on this apprenticeship. The apprenticeship offers opportunities for self study which has been invaluable in providing time for me to work as I learn, developing skills that will benefit the team I work in as well as my career development.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The structure is reasonable but it could be better. The home learning website is on the whole well organised and it is easy to find new learning. However, I came into the apprenticeship with no prior knowledge and experience in data analysis and in some areas of the apprenticeship there was an assumption of some knowledge especially during webinars and I found that sometimes I struggled to keep up. I have tried to focus on the positives and catch up on areas I find a bit more difficult. I am fortunate to have a very supportive management team and apprenticeship coach who have offered me additional time to focus on catching up and also much encouragement!
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I would have given this area 5 stars if it were just a question relating to my management team and the support I have received within my department which has been excellent. However, our consort have been slightly let down in terms of being provided with the right IT software and access permissions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My work based coach is really helpful and supportive. Webinars are a bit more hit and miss depending on who is presenting them and what the topic is being covered but on the whole they are helpful and I have learnt a lot from them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The skills I have learnt on the apprenticeship have benefited my role immensely and will continue to do so.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I am aware of a couple but to be honest I am not best placed to answer this question as I am a parent and so do not have much time to engage in extra curriculars outside of working hours.
