Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Day-to-day tasks vary depending on the stage of the audit and type of audit that you are working on. Independent work is assigned to each audit team member which will contribute to the completion of the audit. Often working alongside colleagues from a variety of seniority and a diverse selection of clients.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
During my time in audit I was given a lot of responsibility and independent to complete assigned tasks and file areas. This has helped accelerate my practical knowledge. Although, given responsibility of these tasks there was still ample opportunity to ask questions or receive help when needed.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Working in audit has strengthened my communication, collaboration and organisational skills as these are required in day-to-day activities. I have also learnt a wide range of IT and excel skills whilst working in audit.

Over the year I have received support from a wide variety of colleague's which has helped to improve the skills and knowledge I started my placement with.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
I could not fault the general team and office atmosphere and company culture at RSM. This has enabled me to really enjoy my time on placement.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I very much enjoyed my time at RSM. I have been able to develop both my academic knowledge and personal skills, providing me with a great foundation to build upon in my future career. I have also been able to work and learn from a variety of colleagues whilst encountering a diverse range of clients. I would highly recommend an audit placement at RSM.
