Legal Intern Review

To assist the legal team in the Consumer Products, Games and Publishing division of Disney's London office. This involves assisting with the formulation, drafting, negotiation and admin for all Disney's commercial contracts with licensees and other third parties, predominantly licensing out Disney intellectual properties.

Yes I have been given lots of responsibility across a range of matters

I have developed legal knowledge around contract law and intellectual property principles. I have also improved my commercial instincts and how to apply the law in a practical manner through working at a major corporation at the heart of the media and entertainment industry. Other skills I have also improved include, attention to detail, interpersonal relationship management and further soft skills.

I have received regular feedback on my work discussing how I can improve and further general future career advice from my team, who have all practiced as solicitors in private law firms.

Disney has provided for a really friendly atmosphere despite being a large company. I have enjoyed constantly meeting new people due to the frequent social events the company hosts outside of work time.

My placement has been an incredible learning experience in all aspects from learning hard legal skills, how to apply them within the wider industry and developing my commercial instincts and soft/personal skills. The placement has also been incredibly fun due to the friendly nature of my team, the wider teams we work with and the general Disney culture that is underpinned by inclusiveness and colloboration.
