Finance Intern Review

The key monthly tasks i have completed consists of cash flow forecasts, balance sheet variance analysis, blackline reconciliations etc. My day-to-day starts with a team meeting to discuss the plan of action. No 2 months are the same with ad hoc projects such as audits, accounts payable. Liasing with the AP team and helping the wider business with any AP queries/reaching out to vendors. Quarter closes require further financial reporting.

Definitely - as i have progressed in my internship, i have slowly been given more tasks to do and harder tasks which challenge me. I have been given tasks such as presenting to senior members of the wider team and taking responsibility of communications with the AP team.

I have developed on soft skills such as effective verbal and written communication, networking and teamwork. As well as understanding how to work in a professional environment.
The main hard skills i have developed are using accounting softwares such as SAP, SNAP, AOE and BPC which i had no prior experience using. I have also learnt a numerous amount of Excel functions and formulas. I have developed on my financial accounting skills such as how to prepare journals, reconciliations.

I have support and guidance available to me all the time. My manager and team (as well as the wider business) are always eager to help with any questions i may have and always explain everything to me in great detail to understand.

The company culture and atmosphere is very diverse, relaxed and collaborative. There are constant ways to promote self-growth and learning that are promoted which allowed me to learn a lot about myself personally

i really enjoyed my time at NBC, i learnt so much about Finance and Accounting as well as the Media and TV. It has been a massive learning opportunity and there have also been so many fun events and activities to do.
