Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked across two core teams in Universal Pictures Content Group (UPCG); Film Marketing & Direct-To-Consumer. Supported international marketing campaigns for UPCG and Focus Features films, ensuring timely delivery of assets including trailers, artwork and promotional materials to territories, briefing creative agencies on campaign requirements, reviewing concepts and designs, and providing feedback to ensure alignment with campaign objectives. Developed presentations for senior managers, frequently used in filmmaker meetings and talent discussions.
Manage social media platforms for the fitness app ‘Own Your Goals Davina’ (175k+ followers), overseeing content approval, running and moderating the Facebook community, and collaborating with creative agencies to develop engaging campaigns and ensure brand consistency. Handled administrative finance tasks, including invoice processing, raising POs and liaising with vendors.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a huge amount of responsibility from briefing agencies on creatives for films to overseeing the social media platforms for OYG Davina, a page with over 175,000 followers. My team trusted me with their projects which was always extremely rewarding.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
There was always someone to talk to for anything. Whether that was interest in joining an ERG, in need of some extra training, future career support, or just everyday wellness check ins, we were covered and it was always comforting knowing this. My line manager was always supportive of everything I did and constantly pushed me to get fully involved and across special projects, we had weekly check ins and I could always just turn up at his desk for anything!

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture was fast paced and people first, everyone is super passionate about what they do and it truly shows through the everyday ways of working and teams across the company. The atmosphere has a community feel and everyone looks out for each other. There was always something to get involved in and extra events around the office which were open to everyone, it was nice seeing people come together outside of work for a common interest or for charity.
