Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Instructing external counsel on new matters, managing work in progress, coordinating weekly reporting from external counsel and delivering to internal stakeholders, dealing with status update queries. Drafting Certificates of Sponsorships, and travel letters and instructions for UK Creative Worker visas. Preparing bundles for US L-1 visa applications. Assist with regular compliance and data quality audits in line with legal requirements.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
The responsibility given to me far exceeded my expectation as an intern. I was able to perform tasks independently with confidence that my manager and broader team supported and trusted my ability. The team was incredibly welcoming and supportive.

Have a working knowledge of immigration systems and laws across the globe including exemptions for film and television production. Increased my existing administrative skills and gained confidence in a legal setting.

The team was incredibly patient with my transition and answered questions promptly and thoroughly to ensure a comprehensive understanding. I felt I was able to go to any member of the team with questions or concerns.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture far exceeded my expectations as some corporate environments can be daunting and intimidating. No matter which team I spoke to or the position they held, I have had positive interactions at all levels of the company. There is a notable presence of diversity initiatives that encourages all teams to be involved.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
This internship was incredibly rewarding as I was able to engage in an area of law that I had not previously considered as a career. I also made new friendships and meaningful professional connections that will be helpful to me as I continue my education and begin my career.
