Finance Intern Review

Daily tasks consist of meetings with Business Unit representatives and senior management on tasks and reconciliations required to be completed for the month. Reports are performed on a monthly basis, with projects also being completed outside of daily operations.

As I progressed throughout the internship and especially during the last 6 months my responsibilities certainly increased. My fellow colleagues started to trust me more with daily operations and deadlines, comfortably being more reliant on me. I was also given the opportunity of leading a new standardization initiative project, which has been in effect now for 6 months,

Communication and teamwork are essential skills that I have developed during my time at NBCUniversal. Problem solving skills and analytic skills are also important for securing this role.

Initially, my manager supported and supervised me through daily operations for a 2 month period. Ensuring I followed regulations, timings and deadlines. With regards to guidance, I was encouraged to complete excel and SAP training, with my manager setting me 4 and 6 month goals, to meet a particular standard of working efficiency within these softwares.

Company culture is second to none at NBCUniversal. Providing numerous YPN collaboration events, after work drinks and Talent Lab Development Schemes. Allowing you the opportunity to connect and interact with not only your team, but the wider company sectors within NBCUniversal. A mentoring scheme is also in place for you to learn about the wider business.

This placement was certainly enjoyable. Whilst it did provide its challenges, with regards to work load and responsibilities. NBCUniversal ensured that my work life balance was always optimal. Scheduling regular catch ups and task orientated goals insured that I was meeting expectations and the ever evolving climate and innovational changes at NBCUniversal.
