Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Within my role in finance I will respond to any queries across the business about invoices or vendor set-up queries. I also sit in calls with each of the international finance teams to help resolve any AP issues.
Furthermore, I will converse with vendors in order to verify any changes to sensitive information and assist is creating new vendor accounts.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
There have been lots of opportunities to gain additional responsibility within my placement. When I first started this was limited, until I felt more comfortable within my role, and now I am given the chance expand on this through working with different teams in the business.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have been able to develop my skills in software such as SAP and SNAP, as I need to be able to quickly navigate and find information. I have also been able to further develop my excel skills.
I have highly strengthened my communications skills due to conversing with members of the business globally, through video calls and emails and also phoning vendors of the company.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received a high amount of guidance and support through my placement. I could not have asked for a more supportive team. Everyone was more than happy to answer any of my queries and repeatedly go over processes so that i was able to develop a high level understanding.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The atmosphere at NBCUniversal was unlike anything I could have imagined. Every single person I met was extremely welcoming, kind and always available to provide support and guidance.
There are a variety of employee resource groups that I was able to join in order to network with different groups of people and gain access to informative resources.

What advice would you give to others applying to NBCUniversal
I would recommend being yourself and showing your passions for films. I believe the team appreciates that you may not have all of the knowledge needed for your role straight away and focuses on ensuring that enthusiastic individuals are always heard.
