Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Assisting with Marketing activity for the DreamWorks channel in various territories. Sending monthly channel highlights with accompanying marketing assets to affiliates. Planning and posting social media posts on Instagram and Facebook.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I have been able to lead on a social project and be responsible for the planning and posting of our social media posts in the Netherlands. On tasks that I am not completely responsible for, I am able to contribute still and give my opinion. A lot of my tasks have deadlines, so I am responsible for timing.

I have advanced my presenting and communication skills. I have had lots of opportunity to present to the wider team. Learning how to post paid social media posts and understanding budget.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I have had lots of support from my team and the careers team. I have weekly meetings with my immediate and wider team and weekly one to ones with my manager where I can ask questions and talk about the week ahead. I feel included in larger meetings, so I can see what the wider team is working on and feel involved.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture is very supporting and encouraging in taking part with activities outside of your day job. There are lots of networking events put on by the company where you can meet and speak to new people and be social. It is an enjoyable atmosphere in the office and lots of opportunity to socialise and enjoy good benefits.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have really enjoyed my internship. I have learnt so much during my day to day working within my team. I have also been able to get involved in employee resource groups. We also took part in a Cares Day, where we volunteered for the day. This was a fun day out of the office, helping in the community. There are lots of opportunities to connect with other interns and different teams at NBC.

What advice would you give to others applying to NBCUniversal
Research all the roles and teams within NBC and see how they work as there are so many different departments and opportunities. Be confident presenting and ask questions. Definitely get involved in employee resource groups and take all the opportunities to network.
