Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working within Environmental Sustainability Services includes operating in a generalist role, liaising between technical specialists of varied disciplines to assess, mitigate and maximise the environment in major infrastructure projects.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Responsibilities included:
Organising and scheduling meetings
Leading and accompanying site visits
Producing reports
Producing GIS maps
Travelling for work and networking

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I had an attentive line manager, and great team support from my placement division, and the various other divisions I worked alongside in aid of my ESS work.
I had quarterly reviews, and fortnightly check-ins to ensure I was happy with my progress and could ask any relevant questions.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Company culture was very vibrant, with a buzz in each office I attended. There were lots of team socials, in various locations across the country to builder stronger connections between offices and put a face to the names you talk to every day!

My placement has really developed my corporate skills, putting into practice my University studies, providing a purpose and motivation to align my final year modules / dissertation to.
