My role is a placement, so it evolves learning skills that can then help my team.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, since I was in the Information Management team, which hadn't had a year long placement student before me, I found myself having a number of responsibilities that I was not expecting.

Yes, in addition to some hard technical skills, I would say I have also developed my inter-personnel skills further.

I really respect and appreciate the team I was a part of because everyone was willing to answer any questions I would have and guide me how to do things that I had not done before

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
One of the highlights from the placement so far has been the company culture and general atmosphere. I actually look forward to going into work and meeting my work colleagues who I consider friends as well.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed to to a high extent. I did not know what to expect once one starts to work in the professional environment, but everyone was so accommodating to the learning curve that came with that.

What advice would you give to others applying to Mott MacDonald
I would say that the people who work here actually are interested in what they do and who they work with. This is valid both externally as well as internally within the company. They are also aware how daunting the application process can be, so just be honest and open about how you feel, what your interests are and if you have any questions.
