Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The First Year Insight Day provided an insight into life at Gibson Dunn, a top international law firm. The day was packed with seminars, talks and interactive workshops, including a trainee panel and a commercial awareness workshop.
The day first started with welcome sessions from the Graduate Recruitment Team and the Training Principal. We then moved on to an introductory session to International Corporate Transactions, International Dispute Resolutions, Pro Bono work at Gibson Dunn, tips and tricks for applications and to a trainee panel. In the afternoon, we attended a commercial awareness workshop and were supervised by associates. The day ended with a debrief and Q&A session with the Graduate Recruitment Team.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I was able to engage with a variety of professionals from different departments within the firm and they were all extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and eager to answer any questions that I had. I really enjoyed the series of presentations on the different aspects of the firm, such as its practice areas and its pro bono work. These presentations were insightful and gave me a clear understanding of the different roles available.
