Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
As an industrial placement student with the Water team, I work on various projects analysing flood risk ad drainage assets and help with the design of drainage strategies. I also occasionally perform some project management roles.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I believe I was given a good amount of responsibility though this varied over the period; it mostly was reasonable however sometimes it was a bit much and sometimes too little. It was promptly resolved however.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Being in the office made it easy to ask for and receive help from colleagues including those who were more senior and even in a work from home situation it was very easy to contact people over teams. Very friendly and helpful environment all in all.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
All in all a worthwhile experience, I enjoyed the exposure and the opportunity to learn both technical and soft skills on the job and get a feel of what it is like to work in industry. I also really appreciate that my inputs were considered and I was allowed to contribute even as a student engineer.
